Commission: Transformers Mini-Spies

FANTASTIC drawing commission by of the Mini-Spies from the first generation of Transformer toys. These bring back many fond memories. Always received a free Mini-Spy with whatever primary Transformer I bought with my allowance as a kid. To quote the artist:

"There were 48 Transformers Mini-spy variations since they came as either Jeep, Mazda, Porsche or Buggy and in either White, Yellow or Blue. They also included those fun pull-back motors so they zipped around...[and] were the first toys to ever have their logos where you had to rub them for it to reveal what side they were on! [Autobot or Decepticon.]"

That was their big appeal. The random nature of their allegiances. You didn't know whose side they were on unless you rubbed the logo on their backs (or hoods in car mode.) You buy a regular-size Autobot, but the Mini-Spy that came with him might end up being a Decepticon, or vice versa! They even had their own commercial to get the point across.

So here's to the Mini-Spies, the little extra Transformers who made my childhood that much more interesting. Another great drawing that I'm proud to have in my collection!
