2019 was another FANTASTIC YEAR for both artwork commissions and cosplays!!! FINALLY!!! HOLIDAY MATSURI!!! After THREE YEARS OF HAVING TO CANCEL, I FINALLY MADE IT THIS TIME!!! Flying to Florida, I had a connection in Minneapolis where it was SNOWING! So for the first time I got to see ACTUAL SNOW AT CHRISTMAS TIME!! Yes, from an airplane window, but it still counts!
Arrived at the con on Day Zero, but first I had to be greeted by THE BIGGEST CHRISTMAS TREE EVER after getting off the plane and later witness THE LITERAL DEATH OF SUPERSHUTTLE at Orlando Airport as my ride reservation was delayed, then searched for, then abandoned, then cancelled all in the span of 10 minutes. Like the company just decided to roll over that very night. Oh well, they had a good run.
The layout of the hotel & convention center was very nice. Christmas trees everywhere. Rooms with balconies, a massive pool deck, a grotto, mini-waterslide, palm trees, an artificial lawn with a giant chessboard, a bridge, a golf course next door, space for food trucks, a decent sized CONVENTION CENTER attached to the far end of the hotel and EIGHTY DEGREE WINTER WEATHER IN FLORIDA (with the occasional early-morning 10-minute downpour of rain.) It was like Classic Anime Los Angeles ON STEROIDS. CHRISTMAS WITH SUNSHINE. Absolutely wonderful. Only downsides were that the hotel itself was geographically isolated, meaning no fast food or regular stores within walking distance (it's delivery or whatever they have on-site.) And Parking? LOL. Good luck with that.
Started the con off right on Friday with Boruto for the Naruto Gathering. Some people seriously thought I was trolling because I was wearing Boruto, so I just ran with it. Hey, whatever gets me a photo with the Legendary Sannin.
Met up with 
and his friends to explore the convention grounds, seeing tons of Christmas-themed cosplays, meeting people who passed out holiday treats, catching up with other Naruto cosplayers (saw teammate Mitsuki and howled like a wolf for no reason) and encountering a Wednesday Addams cosplayer that prompted this adorable exchange:
Wednesday: "Wait, you want a picture with *ME*?"
Boruto: "Well yeah, it's Wednesday Addams!"
Wednesday: "*slight squee* No one's ever asked for a picture with me before!"

During the afternoon break, I returned to my room and in a repeat of MAGFest 2016, saw an amazing group of Kingdom Hearts cosplayers from my hotel balcony. So just like 2016 I QUICKLY changed into Miami Heat Vanitas and RAN down to the pool deck to get pictures with them before they disappeared!!! Then tracked down more Kingdom Hearts cosplayers for photos at the convention center's central Christmas tree.
Saturday was the Kingdom Hearts gathering at the artificial chess lawn, then poolside, then in the grotto area that looked exactly like the Destiny Island caves from the first Kingdom Hearts game. MARVELOUS. This meant big group shoots and mini-shoots all over the place. No, seriously. ALL. OVER. THE. ENTIRE. PLACE. I was Twilight Town Roxas and was Classic Sora. Because Keyblades. After an extended Pizza Hut Break where I was introduced to the glory of Mitsuri Kanroji from Kimetsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer,) I changed into University of Maryland Roxas for nighttime shenanigans. A Ventus made it a point to give me holiday candies, and later asked if I (Roxas) wanted to "merge" and I JUST NOW REALIZED WHAT THAT MEANS SO IF YOU'RE READING THIS HIT ME UP.
Sunday was Nick Fury Lightning Round for Marvel and SHIELD photos. Got awesome pictures next to a SHIELD SUV to round out the weekend.
Overall, Holiday Matsuri absolutely met expectations! The mostly good weather and Christmastime feel-good atmosphere added SO much more to the regular convention experience. Glad to meet all the new people I could, run into SEVERAL familiar faces, and get some amazing pictures to add to the gallery!

, I made my return to ANIME LOS ANGELES in its new location, Ontario, California! My first time going since the LAX Marriott days of 2015. The new spot was an actual small convention center which was nice, but now all the hotels were across or down the street. That took some getting used to. XD Most of my time was spent catching up with old SoCal friends and debuting my KINGDOM HEARTS III SORA COSPLAY!!! YES, one year later I'm finally wearing KH3 Sora. Yeah, I was kind of waiting for the Re:Mind DLC. Anyways, lots of hanging out in Residence Inn hotel rooms watching YouTube, debating Overwatch waifus, dodging people trying to sell mixtapes, ordering and eating pizza, Beverly Marsh, nighttime photoshoots, a Saturday night trip to a nearby Walmart and getting hit on by drunk people? 
Yep, the typical random SoCal shenanigans. XD Also, the Kimetsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer) gathering was quite impressive (Mitsuri is the newest Waifu Award nominee?) and I kick butt at MCU Trivia. Give me all of your prizes!!

Ah yes, KatsuCon, in the friendly confines of National Harbor. My 4th visit in a row, and 5th overall. Travel was smoother than the previous year, no delays and no 30,000-foot-rebooking-jail. Didn't spend a lot of time outside either because it was actual Winter until about Sunday afternoon. This year saw the return of a couple of classic "R-Legend" cosplays SONIC GIJINKA and LAKER TIDUS due to a movie release that same weekend and the sports world losing a certain someone a few weeks before.
An on-time arrival and room setup Thursday meant actually getting in line earlier to pick up my badge as University of Maryland Roxas (spotted
in line) and not standing around for hours next to the only anti-social kids in the room (somehow I always get stuck with them), so afterward I had the time and energy to get some Kingdom Hearts photos, have a Triple Kirito reunion, and even change into Sonic before midnight just to get pics with in his Sonic outfit!
Early Friday was trolling around in Miami Heat Vanitas, getting more Kingdom Hearts cosplay pictures as a warmup for the gathering in the evening and also taking part in a "Secret" gathering at the Gazebo. Then changing into full-on KINGDOM HEARTS III SORA for a Kingdom Hearts gathering which could basically be summed up like this:
Ventus: "ALL WOMEN ARE QUEENS!"
Vanitas: "IF SHE BREATHES, SHE'S A THOT!"
Sora: *looks at other Sora cosplayer* "Hey dude, nice Ultima Weapon!"
Yep! Light. Dark. And then there's Sora.
Oh yeah, and the "Black Coat Mafia" (my new name for Organization XIII to help some normies understand who they were.)
But hold the phone! There was like, ONE KAIRI at the shoot! UNHEARD OF! Made the Destiny Island group shots rather awkward. No time to dwell on it though, because the FINAL FANTASY gathering was up next! Thus, THE RETURN OF LAKER TIDUS after a TEN-YEAR ABSENCE! Yeah, I know, not a "canon" outfit and the wig kind of made me look like a harem hentai protagonist, but people got the point. One Cloud had to say "Nice Tribute," which was just as planned. Took photos with all the Tiduses and the Final Fantasy X cosplayers among others. The rest of the night was hanging out, being introduced to new people and carrying around's Brotherhood Sword because why not?
SATURDAY a MAJOR goal was achieved. I FINALLY got to attend the KatsuCon version of the OFFICIAL MARVEL PHOTOSHOOT while wearing Nick Fury. Been to the Official Marvel shoot at Dragon*Con but always missed Katsu's version due to schedule conflicts, so this was a must. Great timing too, since this year the theme was the Black Widow movie, which meant I was the only Nick Fury amongst an ARMY of Black Widow cosplayers! Icing on the cake was the big Avenger group shots too. Wonderful, wonderful time. Had to do a lap around the Dealer's Hall to let it all sink in. Spent the rest of the time getting more MCU and Waifu pictures before observing the somewhat chaotic My Hero Academia gathering (that almost got shut down but not really because how are you going to stop THAT many people?) and eating dinner. Then it was changing into casual VEN-VANITAS to get photos of the more stylish rave outfits on Saturday night.
Sunday was more KH3 Sora action, including some of the LONGEST conversations I've EVER been a part of, and apparently meeting all of the Re:Mind requirements of KatsuCon because I found Secret Boss Yozora at the very end of the con! A fun time, lots of great cosplays as usual.

THE DEVIANTART SAGA: ECLIPSE
We've all seen the notifications. On May 20th, the much-maligned "Eclipse" format will no longer be optional and become mandatory for all Deviantart users.
Granted, I'm not a fan of Eclipse. The layout feels awkward, cluttered and a bit too busy. No organization, everything is all smashed together. So if this is going to be a thing, I expect VAST improvements going forward. I've been a member here for over a decade, and barring SOMEONE REALLY SCREWING UP THE SITE, my gallery is not going anywhere.
BUT I'm not taking kindly to anyone pulling a "Last Jedi/Rise Of Skywalker/Timeless Children/Star Trek Picard/Westworld/New Warriors/Gotham High" tankjob on this platform in a conscious or unconscious effort to run it into the ground.

WELCOME TO ALL MY NEW WATCHERS! Cosplay is my extravagent hobby. Love cosplaying and love taking cosplay photos. I'm always looking for the perfect shot. WHAT EXACTLY IS "R-LEGEND?"
People have realized that I'm about more than just cosplay and ask "Why is Ryoga fighting all these random people?" So here's a little bit of info about some of the artworks I commission for the "R-LEGEND" section of my gallery:
R-LEGEND is the story of J. Ryoga, a young man who founds a martial arts/military/superhero organization destined to wage war against the forces of evil in the universe. Through the course of his life, he encounters many friends, battles countless enemies, and even raises a family to carry on once his part in the story ends. That's right, AN EPIC JOURNEY SPANNING FOUR GENERATIONS!!!

After much consideration and debate, "RWO" itself is an acronym for an ancient alien phrase loosely meaning "Army of Light." Originally, Ranma 1/2 characters were the main focus of the story, but over time it grew into what can only be described as the "ultimate crossover action fanfic." So in addition to cosplay photos and random character art, I also upload images and artwork from the "R-Legend" story in the "R-Legend" folder of my gallery. Some characters you may recognize, and others you may need to Google to learn more about.
R-LEGEND was originally an online club I started back in college. First, we were an America Online chatroom roleplay group called "RWO," then we grew to become an online club devoted to creating a massive crossover fanfiction story based on various video games, anime, cartoons, comics, sci-fi series, fantasy series, spontaneous events that took place in AOL chatrooms, and the creative ideas that my friends have pitched to me over the years. The group's name changed from "RWO" to "R-Legend" because in essence, the story is "our legend."
What is all this leading to? I'm not at liberty to go into too many details right now but stay tuned.
Things are becoming clearer over time.

FINALLY!!! HOLIDAY MATSURI!!! After THREE YEARS OF HAVING TO CANCEL, I FINALLY MADE IT THIS TIME!!! Flying to Florida, I had a connection in Minneapolis where it was SNOWING! So for the first time I got to see ACTUAL SNOW AT CHRISTMAS TIME!! Yes, from an airplane window, but it still counts!
Arrived at the con on Day Zero, but first I had to be greeted by THE BIGGEST CHRISTMAS TREE EVER after getting off the plane and later witness THE LITERAL DEATH OF SUPERSHUTTLE at Orlando Airport as my ride reservation was delayed, then searched for, then abandoned, then cancelled all in the span of 10 minutes. Like the company just decided to roll over that very night. Oh well, they had a good run.The layout of the hotel & convention center was very nice. Christmas trees everywhere. Rooms with balconies, a massive pool deck, a grotto, mini-waterslide, palm trees, an artificial lawn with a giant chessboard, a bridge, a golf course next door, space for food trucks, a decent sized CONVENTION CENTER attached to the far end of the hotel and EIGHTY DEGREE WINTER WEATHER IN FLORIDA (with the occasional early-morning 10-minute downpour of rain.) It was like Classic Anime Los Angeles ON STEROIDS. CHRISTMAS WITH SUNSHINE. Absolutely wonderful. Only downsides were that the hotel itself was geographically isolated, meaning no fast food or regular stores within walking distance (it's delivery or whatever they have on-site.) And Parking? LOL. Good luck with that.
Started the con off right on Friday with Boruto for the Naruto Gathering. Some people seriously thought I was trolling because I was wearing Boruto, so I just ran with it. Hey, whatever gets me a photo with the Legendary Sannin.
Met up with and his friends to explore the convention grounds, seeing tons of Christmas-themed cosplays, meeting people who passed out holiday treats, catching up with other Naruto cosplayers (saw teammate Mitsuki and howled like a wolf for no reason) and encountering a Wednesday Addams cosplayer that prompted this adorable exchange:Wednesday: "Wait, you want a picture with *ME*?"
Boruto: "Well yeah, it's Wednesday Addams!"
Wednesday: "*slight squee* No one's ever asked for a picture with me before!"

During the afternoon break, I returned to my room and in a repeat of MAGFest 2016, saw an amazing group of Kingdom Hearts cosplayers from my hotel balcony. So just like 2016 I QUICKLY changed into Miami Heat Vanitas and RAN down to the pool deck to get pictures with them before they disappeared!!!
Then tracked down more Kingdom Hearts cosplayers for photos at the convention center's central Christmas tree. Saturday was the Kingdom Hearts gathering at the artificial chess lawn, then poolside, then in the grotto area that looked exactly like the Destiny Island caves from the first Kingdom Hearts game. MARVELOUS. This meant big group shoots and mini-shoots all over the place. No, seriously. ALL. OVER. THE. ENTIRE. PLACE. I was Twilight Town Roxas and
was Classic Sora. Because Keyblades. After an extended Pizza Hut Break where I was introduced to the glory of Mitsuri Kanroji from Kimetsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer,) I changed into University of Maryland Roxas for nighttime shenanigans. A Ventus made it a point to give me holiday candies, and later asked if I (Roxas) wanted to "merge" and I JUST NOW REALIZED WHAT THAT MEANS SO IF YOU'RE READING THIS HIT ME UP. Sunday was Nick Fury Lightning Round for Marvel and SHIELD photos. Got awesome pictures next to a SHIELD SUV to round out the weekend.
Overall, Holiday Matsuri absolutely met expectations! The mostly good weather and Christmastime feel-good atmosphere added SO much more to the regular convention experience. Glad to meet all the new people I could, run into SEVERAL familiar faces, and get some amazing pictures to add to the gallery!

, I made my return to ANIME LOS ANGELES in its new location, Ontario, California! My first time going since the LAX Marriott days of 2015. The new spot was an actual small convention center which was nice, but now all the hotels were across or down the street. That took some getting used to. XD Most of my time was spent catching up with old SoCal friends and debuting my KINGDOM HEARTS III SORA COSPLAY!!! YES, one year later I'm finally wearing KH3 Sora. Yeah, I was kind of waiting for the Re:Mind DLC. Anyways, lots of hanging out in Residence Inn hotel rooms watching YouTube, debating Overwatch waifus, dodging people trying to sell mixtapes, ordering and eating pizza, Beverly Marsh, nighttime photoshoots, a Saturday night trip to a nearby Walmart and getting hit on by drunk people? Yep, the typical random SoCal shenanigans. XD Also, the Kimetsu No Yaiba (Demon Slayer) gathering was quite impressive (Mitsuri is the newest Waifu Award nominee?) and I kick butt at MCU Trivia. Ah yes, KatsuCon, in the friendly confines of National Harbor. My 4th visit in a row, and 5th overall. Travel was smoother than the previous year, no delays and no 30,000-foot-rebooking-jail. Didn't spend a lot of time outside either because it was actual Winter until about Sunday afternoon. This year saw the return of a couple of classic "R-Legend" cosplays SONIC GIJINKA and LAKER TIDUS due to a movie release that same weekend and the sports world losing a certain someone a few weeks before.
An on-time arrival and room setup Thursday meant actually getting in line earlier to pick up my badge as University of Maryland Roxas (spotted
in line) and not standing around for hours next to the only anti-social kids in the room (somehow I always get stuck with them), so afterward I had the time and energy to get some Kingdom Hearts photos, have a Triple Kirito reunion, and even change into Sonic before midnight just to get pics with in his Sonic outfit! Early Friday was trolling around in Miami Heat Vanitas, getting more Kingdom Hearts cosplay pictures as a warmup for the gathering in the evening and also taking part in a "Secret" gathering at the Gazebo. Then changing into full-on KINGDOM HEARTS III SORA for a Kingdom Hearts gathering which could basically be summed up like this:
Ventus: "ALL WOMEN ARE QUEENS!"
Vanitas: "IF SHE BREATHES, SHE'S A THOT!"
Sora: *looks at other Sora cosplayer* "Hey dude, nice Ultima Weapon!"
Yep! Light. Dark. And then there's Sora.
Oh yeah, and the "Black Coat Mafia" (my new name for Organization XIII to help some normies understand who they were.)
But hold the phone! There was like, ONE KAIRI at the shoot! UNHEARD OF! Made the Destiny Island group shots rather awkward. No time to dwell on it though, because the FINAL FANTASY gathering was up next! Thus, THE RETURN OF LAKER TIDUS after a TEN-YEAR ABSENCE! Yeah, I know, not a "canon" outfit and the wig kind of made me look like a harem hentai protagonist, but people got the point. One Cloud had to say "Nice Tribute," which was just as planned. Took photos with all the Tiduses and the Final Fantasy X cosplayers among others. The rest of the night was hanging out, being introduced to new people and carrying around
's Brotherhood Sword because why not? SATURDAY a MAJOR goal was achieved. I FINALLY got to attend the KatsuCon version of the OFFICIAL MARVEL PHOTOSHOOT while wearing Nick Fury. Been to the Official Marvel shoot at Dragon*Con but always missed Katsu's version due to schedule conflicts, so this was a must. Great timing too, since this year the theme was the Black Widow movie, which meant I was the only Nick Fury amongst an ARMY of Black Widow cosplayers!
Icing on the cake was the big Avenger group shots too. Wonderful, wonderful time. Had to do a lap around the Dealer's Hall to let it all sink in. Spent the rest of the time getting more MCU and Waifu pictures before observing the somewhat chaotic My Hero Academia gathering (that almost got shut down but not really because how are you going to stop THAT many people?) and eating dinner. Then it was changing into casual VEN-VANITAS to get photos of the more stylish rave outfits on Saturday night. Sunday was more KH3 Sora action, including some of the LONGEST conversations I've EVER been a part of, and apparently meeting all of the Re:Mind requirements of KatsuCon because I found Secret Boss Yozora at the very end of the con!
A fun time, lots of great cosplays as usual. We've all seen the notifications. On May 20th, the much-maligned "Eclipse" format will no longer be optional and become mandatory for all Deviantart users.
Granted, I'm not a fan of Eclipse. The layout feels awkward, cluttered and a bit too busy. No organization, everything is all smashed together. So if this is going to be a thing, I expect VAST improvements going forward. I've been a member here for over a decade, and barring SOMEONE REALLY SCREWING UP THE SITE, my gallery is not going anywhere.
BUT I'm not taking kindly to anyone pulling a "Last Jedi/Rise Of Skywalker/Timeless Children/Star Trek Picard/Westworld/New Warriors/Gotham High" tankjob on this platform in a conscious or unconscious effort to run it into the ground.

WHAT EXACTLY IS "R-LEGEND?"
People have realized that I'm about more than just cosplay and ask "Why is Ryoga fighting all these random people?" So here's a little bit of info about some of the artworks I commission for the "R-LEGEND" section of my gallery:
R-LEGEND is the story of J. Ryoga, a young man who founds a martial arts/military/superhero organization destined to wage war against the forces of evil in the universe. Through the course of his life, he encounters many friends, battles countless enemies, and even raises a family to carry on once his part in the story ends. That's right, AN EPIC JOURNEY SPANNING FOUR GENERATIONS!!!

After much consideration and debate, "RWO" itself is an acronym for an ancient alien phrase loosely meaning "Army of Light." Originally, Ranma 1/2 characters were the main focus of the story, but over time it grew into what can only be described as the "ultimate crossover action fanfic." So in addition to cosplay photos and random character art, I also upload images and artwork from the "R-Legend" story in the "R-Legend" folder of my gallery. Some characters you may recognize, and others you may need to Google to learn more about.
R-LEGEND was originally an online club I started back in college. First, we were an America Online chatroom roleplay group called "RWO," then we grew to become an online club devoted to creating a massive crossover fanfiction story based on various video games, anime, cartoons, comics, sci-fi series, fantasy series, spontaneous events that took place in AOL chatrooms, and the creative ideas that my friends have pitched to me over the years. The group's name changed from "RWO" to "R-Legend" because in essence, the story is "our legend."
What is all this leading to? I'm not at liberty to go into too many details right now but stay tuned.

WHAT EXACTLY IS "R-LEGEND?"
People have realized that I'm about more than just cosplay and ask "Why is Ryoga fighting all these random people?" So here's a little bit of info about some of the artworks I commission for the "R-LEGEND" section of my gallery:
R-LEGEND is the story of J. Ryoga, a young man who founds a martial arts/military/superhero organization destined to wage war against the forces of evil in the universe. Through the course of his life, he encounters many friends, battles countless enemies, and even raises a family to carry on once his part in the story ends. That's right, AN EPIC JOURNEY SPANNING FOUR GENERATIONS!!!

After much consideration and debate, "RWO" itself is an acronym for an ancient alien phrase loosely meaning "Army of Light." Originally, Ranma 1/2 characters were the main focus of the story, but over time it grew into what can only be described as the "ultimate crossover action fanfic." So in addition to cosplay photos and random character art, I also upload images and artwork from the "R-Legend" story in the "R-Legend" folder of my gallery. Some characters you may recognize, and others you may need to Google to learn more about.
R-LEGEND was originally an online club I started back in college. First, we were an America Online chatroom roleplay group called "RWO," then we grew to become an online club devoted to creating a massive crossover fanfiction story based on various video games, anime, cartoons, comics, sci-fi series, fantasy series, spontaneous events that took place in AOL chatrooms, and the creative ideas that my friends have pitched to me over the years. The group's name changed from "RWO" to "R-Legend" because in essence, the story is "our legend."
What is all this leading to? I'm not at liberty to go into too many details right now but stay tuned.

Summer is officially over and it's time for a recap!! Here's what's going on in my world:
FLORIDA SUPERCON 2019
Looking For Pics Of My Cosplays:

Since my usual entourage was skipping Anime Expo this year, I decided to do the same and make my return to Miami Beach and Florida Supercon! First time in four years, after remodeling was finally finished on the Miami Beach Convention Center. And what a remodel it was! The first floor is straightfoward, but the SECOND FLOOR is a MASSIVE circular hallway with the massive Main Events Hall on the far side. It was HUGE, reminding me of MegaCon's Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Yay for Florida and its super huge convention centers!
The Show Floor had an "all in one" setup with Artists Alley at the front, vendors, a mini performance stage for some company to hype...whatever they were hyping, and in the back the food court, autographs, photo-ops and cosplay specialty areas which included a gunner cycle photoshoot setup, a repair station, a mini-stage for cosplay guests to hold their own focus panels, and an Iron Throne Made Of Costume Construction Supplies. This apparently was the first year the Florida Supercon was under new management, so things were in a state of flux.
Friday was FINALLY WEARING MIAMI HEAT VANITAS IN MIAMI!!
Meeting Heat fans, Kingdom Hearts cosplayers and waifu cosplayers. Even got called "Dwayne Wade Vanitas" at one point. As expected Marvel, Dragon Ball Z, Mortal Kombat and Nintendo cosplays were out in force this year. Plus there was a better-than-expected Marvel gathering in the afternoon. When the Show Floor closed in the evening, the scene shifted to the nightly mayhem that was FANTASY SUPER COSPLAY WRESTLING (FSCW.) Clever. And here I thought FSCW simply stood for "Florida SuperCon Wrestling," but no. The wrestling fed's main story over the weekend was the heel COBRA faction (of G. I. Joe fame) winning all the championship belts through nefarious means and trying to completely take over the fed until faces and heels alike loosely banded together to dethrone them.
This year's FSCW Roster included:
COBRA (Cobra Commander, Baroness, Destro & Dr. Mindbender as a tag team, Ripper & Firefly as another tag team, Zarana, and a heel referee aligned with Cobra.)

You know how MetroCon has their Cosplay Chess as a giant 2-hour high-production-value multiverse crossover masquerade skit? Think that, only with PRO WRESTLING! It was complete madness, a lot of fun to watch, and I hope new management keeps it going as they have big crowds every night. When your tag team roster is stacked with folks like the Mario Bros., Team Rocket, Overwatch, and KRATOS, it is definitely MUST SEE!
Saturday I was Nick Fury, getting a ton of Marvel photos. Tons of Spider-Men everywhere. Ran into some old friends unexpectedly too! This is the night that the entire FSCW roster revolted against COBRA, resulting in Mystique defeating Baroness for the Women's Title, Junkrat and Roadhog defeating Destro & Mindbender for the Tag Team Titles, and Miles Morales Spider-Man defeating Cobra Commander for the FSCW Championship after a lockerroom clearing brawl. Afterwards was randomness and pizza in the convention center halls. Domino's actually delivers to the convention center! Nice!
Sunday was the Lightning Round for Vanitas, sitting in on a Kingdom Hearts Trivia Panel, where once again I got to eat legit Sea Salt Ice Cream. FSCW was a showcase of the entire roster, just in case it turned to be the last FSCW show period. Plus random encounters at the McDonald's down the street and on the way back to my hotel. Parents looked confused at Miami Heat Vanitas. Their sons did not.
Wonderful time was had overall. It was VANITAS-CON, RESIDENCE-INN-CON, MIAMI-HEAT-CON, MCU-CON, NICK-FURY-CON, KINGDOM-HEARTS-CON, WRESTLING-CON, COBRA-TAKEOVER-CON, SPIDER-MAN-CON, WAKANDA-CON, GUNNER-CYCLE-CON, SKELETOR-CON, IRON-THRONE-CON, SHIELD-CON, TRIVIA-CON, and YES-YOU-KNOW-WHO-I-AM-CON. Hope to return sooner rather than later!

A day out to enjoy the scenery at the Usual Spot of Coyote Point. In a cosplay based entirely on an obscure Kingdom Hearts 2 plot thread: ROXAS FINALLY MAKES IT TO THE BEACH!!! Good grief it was WINDY by the shoreline, but worth it to get a few good beach pictures out of it. Glad to see and catch up with everyone I could, along with meeting a couple of new faces!! Shout-out to the Wolf's Rain cosplayers, the Promised Neverland cosplayers and Sora!!! Another lovely time on the coast!

After much-needed rest and business handling, my first TwitchCon and THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER STAYED IN A DOWNTOWN HOTEL FOR A CONVENTION IN SAN DIEGO!!! Not the Hotel Circle, not the Sheraton Islands or something next to Sea World, but LEGIT DOWNTOWN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE CONVENTION CENTER. Sure, I've stayed downtown for gatherings and what-not. But NOT FOR A LEGIT CON. Also, SO nice to be in the San Diego Convention Center and actually have room to breathe! Most of the time, LOL. Crowded, but not TOO crowded, this con seemed like a giant indoor meetup for the Twitch community, where well-known Twitch streamers could walk around and meet fans, gamer groups got together to basically stand around and in some cases meet face to face for the first time, and a few companies and indie-types showed off some games and hardware in the Showroom. Cosplayers were from all genres but mostly video games. There was a modest Artist Alley, and the more popular streamers had scheduled meet-and-greets at booths similar to celebrity guests at comic conventions. XD Cosplayed ROXAS most of the time, the Maryland jersey and black hoodie on Friday, then full-on Roxas on Saturday sharing my Oathkeeper and/or Oblivion with other random cosplayers and photoseekers. Got a LOT of compliments on Saturday, especially about the wig. Got asked if I was a streamer about a MILLION times, so I'm going to have to consider it for the future. (Time is an issue right now so we'll see.) Most of the streamers I know and follow took this year off which is cool because I got to walk around and see what else was what. Some guy named "Dr. Disrespect" was also roaming back and forth with a crowd following him too. Highlight was the whole "Vs." stage out back where I found XAVIER WOODS AND T-PAIN going head-to-head with random people from the crowd in Cuphead. IGN and Alienware Gaming were behind the whole thing, so of course prizes were handed out with reckless abandon. Afterwards, got a photo with Xavier, who seemed unusually non-hyperverbal at that moment. Was it something I said...or didn't say? Or a past encounter that may have...I don't know...rang a bell? *coughE3cough* XD Regardless it was cool.
Definitely coming back next time, because that entire area surrounding the Convention Center is photoshoot gold without the crowds from other conventions. A cosplayer's paradise if you play your cards right. GET WELL SOON XAVIER!

You know how MetroCon has their Cosplay Chess as a giant 2-hour high-production-value multiverse crossover masquerade skit? Think that, only with PRO WRESTLING! It was complete madness, a lot of fun to watch, and I hope new management keeps it going as they have big crowds every night. When your tag team roster is stacked with folks like the Mario Bros., Team Rocket, Overwatch, and KRATOS, it is definitely MUST SEE!
Saturday I was Nick Fury, getting a ton of Marvel photos. Tons of Spider-Men everywhere. Ran into some old friends unexpectedly too! This is the night that the entire FSCW roster revolted against COBRA, resulting in Mystique defeating Baroness for the Women's Title, Junkrat and Roadhog defeating Destro & Mindbender for the Tag Team Titles, and Miles Morales Spider-Man defeating Cobra Commander for the FSCW Championship after a lockerroom clearing brawl. Afterwards was randomness and pizza in the convention center halls. Domino's actually delivers to the convention center! Nice!
Sunday was the Lightning Round for Vanitas, sitting in on a Kingdom Hearts Trivia Panel, where once again I got to eat legit Sea Salt Ice Cream. FSCW was a showcase of the entire roster, just in case it turned to be the last FSCW show period. Plus random encounters at the McDonald's down the street and on the way back to my hotel. Parents looked confused at Miami Heat Vanitas. Their sons did not.
Wonderful time was had overall. It was VANITAS-CON, RESIDENCE-INN-CON, MIAMI-HEAT-CON, MCU-CON, NICK-FURY-CON, KINGDOM-HEARTS-CON, WRESTLING-CON, COBRA-TAKEOVER-CON, SPIDER-MAN-CON, WAKANDA-CON, GUNNER-CYCLE-CON, SKELETOR-CON, IRON-THRONE-CON, SHIELD-CON, TRIVIA-CON, and YES-YOU-KNOW-WHO-I-AM-CON. Hope to return sooner rather than later!

Good grief it was WINDY by the shoreline, but worth it to get a few good beach pictures out of it. Glad to see and catch up with everyone I could, along with meeting a couple of new faces!! *ROXAS from Kingdom Hearts II
After much-needed rest and business handling, my first TwitchCon and THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER STAYED IN A DOWNTOWN HOTEL FOR A CONVENTION IN SAN DIEGO!!! Not the Hotel Circle, not the Sheraton Islands or something next to Sea World, but LEGIT DOWNTOWN WALKING DISTANCE TO THE CONVENTION CENTER. Sure, I've stayed downtown for gatherings and what-not. But NOT FOR A LEGIT CON. Also, SO nice to be in the San Diego Convention Center and actually have room to breathe! Most of the time, LOL. Crowded, but not TOO crowded, this con seemed like a giant indoor meetup for the Twitch community, where well-known Twitch streamers could walk around and meet fans, gamer groups got together to basically stand around and in some cases meet face to face for the first time, and a few companies and indie-types showed off some games and hardware in the Showroom. Cosplayers were from all genres but mostly video games. There was a modest Artist Alley, and the more popular streamers had scheduled meet-and-greets at booths similar to celebrity guests at comic conventions. XD Cosplayed ROXAS most of the time, the Maryland jersey and black hoodie on Friday, then full-on Roxas on Saturday sharing my Oathkeeper and/or Oblivion with other random cosplayers and photoseekers. Got a LOT of compliments on Saturday, especially about the wig. Got asked if I was a streamer about a MILLION times, so I'm going to have to consider it for the future. (Time is an issue right now so we'll see.) Most of the streamers I know and follow took this year off which is cool because I got to walk around and see what else was what. Some guy named "Dr. Disrespect" was also roaming back and forth with a crowd following him too. Highlight was the whole "Vs." stage out back where I found XAVIER WOODS AND T-PAIN going head-to-head with random people from the crowd in Cuphead. IGN and Alienware Gaming were behind the whole thing, so of course prizes were handed out with reckless abandon. Afterwards, got a photo with Xavier, who seemed unusually non-hyperverbal at that moment. Was it something I said...or didn't say? Or a past encounter that may have...I don't know...rang a bell? *coughE3cough* XD Regardless it was cool.
Definitely coming back next time, because that entire area surrounding the Convention Center is photoshoot gold without the crowds from other conventions. A cosplayer's paradise if you play your cards right. GET WELL SOON XAVIER!

WHAT EXACTLY IS "R-LEGEND?"
People have realized that I'm about more than just cosplay and ask "Why is Ryoga fighting all these random people?" So here's a little bit of info about some of the artworks I commission for the "R-LEGEND" section of my gallery:
R-LEGEND is the story of J. Ryoga, a young man who founds a martial arts/military/superhero organization destined to wage war against the forces of evil in the universe. Through the course of his life, he encounters many friends, battles countless enemies, and even raises a family to carry on once his part in the story ends. That's right, AN EPIC JOURNEY SPANNING FOUR GENERATIONS!!!

After much consideration and debate, "RWO" itself is an acronym for an ancient alien phrase loosely meaning "Army of Light." Originally, Ranma 1/2 characters were the main focus of the story, but over time it grew into what can only be described as the "ultimate crossover action fanfic." So in addition to cosplay photos and random character art, I also upload images and artwork from the "R-Legend" story in the "R-Legend" folder of my gallery. Some characters you may recognize, and others you may need to Google to learn more about.
R-LEGEND was originally an online club I started back in college. First, we were an America Online chatroom roleplay group called "RWO," then we grew to become an online club devoted to creating a massive crossover fanfiction story based on various video games, anime, cartoons, comics, sci-fi series, fantasy series, spontaneous events that took place in AOL chatrooms, and the creative ideas that my friends have pitched to me over the years. The group's name changed from "RWO" to "R-Legend" because in essence, the story is "our legend."
What is all this leading to? I'm not at liberty to go into too many details right now but stay tuned.

*AGAIN, the Marvel Studios peeps were a lie. This movie is 100% "INFINITY WAR PART II." For months, they were insisting "This is a different movie, it has nothing to do with the Infinity Gauntlet." Nothing to do with the Infinity Gauntlet MY ASS!!!
*DAMN THAT WAS COLD. Quicksilver gets a Barton kid named after him, and the kid DOES NOT SURVIVE THE SNAP. Reference to the comics version, when My Boy was like the first hero to disappear?
*I KNEW IT! Iron Man was saved by Captain Marvel Space Towing Co. But Nebula whose half-robot or something clearly didn't need saving.

Back from MEGACON in Orlando, Florida!! My TENTH STRAIGHT MEGACON!!! TENTH ANNIVERSARY!!! It was total WAIFUCON, like seriously, every waifu I've ever had was cosplayed at this con. Hinata, Lucy Heartfilia, Roxanne, Tetra, Ino, all three Kingdom Hearts Lovelies, and more! In addition it was TROLLEY-CON, NICK-FURY-CON, AGENTS-OF-SHIELD-CON, VANITAS-STEALS-YOUR-GIRL-CON, GOOD-WEATHER-CON, MIAMI-HEAT-CON, GANGSTERS-PARADISE-CON, WHITE-HAIR-CON, CAPTAIN-MARVEL-CON, NARUTO-CON, GREEN-NARUTO-CON, DAVE-AND-BUSTERS-CON, PIZZA-HUT-CON, ICON-PARK-CON, HEY-SEXY-CON, WTF-CON, and NOTHING-IS-OBSCURECON. Tons of Captain Marvel, SHIELD Agent and My Hero Academia cosplays this year. And unlike last year there was MORE THAN ONE WAY TO GET IN THE BUILDING!!! GOOD!!! Security was a little more laid back once you got inside, which made things a bit easier compared to last year's Maximum Security MegaCon. Thursday was spent trolling about as Miami Heat Vanitas, running to people that I either met or took photos of last year. I KNOW, I KNOW, A MIAMI HEAT JERSEY IN ORLANDO ISN'T ALWAYS THE BEST IDEA. But then again, it's a Total Vanitas Move and the Kingdom Hearts cosplayers loved it. XD Friday was a mix of Vanitas and NICK FURY, which netted some awesome shots by the SHIELD vehicle display on the north end of the Showroom Floor and high-fives from plenty of small kids (especially kids in Spider-Man costumes.) Saturday was the MARVEL GATHERING outside...in the shade...thankfully. Lots of good Marvel cosplays, and not all from the MCU either! After that was hanging out and meeting up with people, leading into the Cosplay Contest To Determine The Best In The WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD in the evening. Or something like that. XD Followed by a trip to Icon Park at night for one of the afterparties. Didn't stay terribly long, but got to see who was there and what it was like. Of course Drunk Tony Stark had to get selfies with Nick Fury. Sunday was the Lightning Round for Boruto which included the Naruto gathering and end-of-con-wrapup.
OK, a couple of funny moments from the weekend. FIRST the leadup to the Vanitas & Lucy photo currently in my "Vanitas Style Mayhem" folder right now. I saw this cool-looking Lucy cosplayer and wanted a photo with her. But she was talking to this super awkward boy who SO OBVIOUSLY HAD A CRUSH ON HER. And it looks like the conversation is pretty much done. So what does Vanitas do? Walk up to the boy and just go "Hey dude, can you take a picture of us together?" THE LOOK ON THAT BOY'S FACE. TOTALLY DIVIDED BY ZERO. CLEARLY I VIOLATED SOME UNWRITTEN CODE! XD Dude, BRUH. Seriously. IT'S JUST A COSPLAY PHOTO. I'M NOT STEALING YOUR GIRL...but I am wearing Vanitas, so it wouldn't be the first time. ROFL!!! I WILL ADMIT THERE IS PRECEDENCE FOR THIS TYPE OF THING (*cough*SoyConCosplayWedding*cough*.) But seriously, he took the photo...eventually...and it was nothing personal and totally not my intent, but the look on his face will never be forgotten. XD
Then on the way back from Icon Park, I'm walking down International Drive to the trolley stop wearing Nick Fury when randomly some drunk old lady shouted "HEY SEXY!" at me from a passing car!!! WTF!!! XD
This is why I never get tired of Orlando. Ten Years, None Of Them Dull. Glad to see everyone that showed, and hope to see more next year...in the West Concourse this time.

AVENGERS ENDGAME THOUGHTS

*AGAIN, the Marvel Studios peeps were a lie. This movie is 100% "INFINITY WAR PART II." For months, they were insisting "This is a different movie, it has nothing to do with the Infinity Gauntlet." Nothing to do with the Infinity Gauntlet MY ASS!!!
*DAMN THAT WAS COLD. Quicksilver gets a Barton kid named after him, and the kid DOES NOT SURVIVE THE SNAP. Reference to the comics version, when My Boy was like the first hero to disappear?
*I KNEW IT! Iron Man was saved by Captain Marvel Space Towing Co. But Nebula whose half-robot or something clearly didn't need saving.
*DAMN Stark got skinny. I mean "Naked And Afraid" skinny!

Back from MEGACON in Orlando, Florida!! My TENTH STRAIGHT MEGACON!!! TENTH ANNIVERSARY!!! It was total WAIFUCON, like seriously, every waifu I've ever had was cosplayed at this con. Hinata, Lucy Heartfilia, Roxanne, Tetra, Ino, all three Kingdom Hearts Lovelies, and more! In addition it was TROLLEY-CON, NICK-FURY-CON, AGENTS-OF-SHIELD-CON, VANITAS-STEALS-YOUR-GIRL-CON, GOOD-WEATHER-CON, MIAMI-HEAT-CON, GANGSTERS-PARADISE-CON, WHITE-HAIR-CON, CAPTAIN-MARVEL-CON, NARUTO-CON, GREEN-NARUTO-CON, DAVE-AND-BUSTERS-CON, PIZZA-HUT-CON, ICON-PARK-CON, HEY-SEXY-CON, WTF-CON, and NOTHING-IS-OBSCURECON. Tons of Captain Marvel, SHIELD Agent and My Hero Academia cosplays this year. And unlike last year there was MORE THAN ONE WAY TO GET IN THE BUILDING!!! GOOD!!! Security was a little more laid back once you got inside, which made things a bit easier compared to last year's Maximum Security MegaCon. Thursday was spent trolling about as Miami Heat Vanitas, running to people that I either met or took photos of last year. I KNOW, I KNOW, A MIAMI HEAT JERSEY IN ORLANDO ISN'T ALWAYS THE BEST IDEA. But then again, it's a Total Vanitas Move and the Kingdom Hearts cosplayers loved it. XD Friday was a mix of Vanitas and NICK FURY, which netted some awesome shots by the SHIELD vehicle display on the north end of the Showroom Floor and high-fives from plenty of small kids (especially kids in Spider-Man costumes.) Saturday was the MARVEL GATHERING outside...in the shade...thankfully. Lots of good Marvel cosplays, and not all from the MCU either! After that was hanging out and meeting up with people, leading into the Cosplay Contest To Determine The Best In The WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORLD in the evening. Or something like that. XD Followed by a trip to Icon Park at night for one of the afterparties. Didn't stay terribly long, but got to see who was there and what it was like. Of course Drunk Tony Stark had to get selfies with Nick Fury. Sunday was the Lightning Round for Boruto which included the Naruto gathering and end-of-con-wrapup.
OK, a couple of funny moments from the weekend. FIRST the leadup to the Vanitas & Lucy photo currently in my "Vanitas Style Mayhem" folder right now. I saw this cool-looking Lucy cosplayer and wanted a photo with her. But she was talking to this super awkward boy who SO OBVIOUSLY HAD A CRUSH ON HER. And it looks like the conversation is pretty much done. So what does Vanitas do? Walk up to the boy and just go "Hey dude, can you take a picture of us together?" THE LOOK ON THAT BOY'S FACE. TOTALLY DIVIDED BY ZERO. CLEARLY I VIOLATED SOME UNWRITTEN CODE! XD Dude, BRUH. Seriously. IT'S JUST A COSPLAY PHOTO. I'M NOT STEALING YOUR GIRL...but I am wearing Vanitas, so it wouldn't be the first time. ROFL!!! I WILL ADMIT THERE IS PRECEDENCE FOR THIS TYPE OF THING (*cough*SoyConCosplayWedding*cough*.) But seriously, he took the photo...eventually...and it was nothing personal and totally not my intent, but the look on his face will never be forgotten. XD
Then on the way back from Icon Park, I'm walking down International Drive to the trolley stop wearing Nick Fury when randomly some drunk old lady shouted "HEY SEXY!" at me from a passing car!!! WTF!!! XD
This is why I never get tired of Orlando. Ten Years, None Of Them Dull. Glad to see everyone that showed, and hope to see more next year...in the West Concourse this time.

WHAT EXACTLY IS "R-LEGEND?"
People have realized that I'm about more than just cosplay and ask "Why is Ryoga fighting all these random people?" So here's a little bit of info about some of the artworks I commission for the "R-LEGEND" section of my gallery:
R-LEGEND is the story of J. Ryoga, a young man who founds a martial arts/military/superhero organization destined to wage war against the forces of evil in the universe. Through the course of his life, he encounters many friends, battles countless enemies, and even raises a family to carry on once his part in the story ends (AN EPIC JOURNEY SPANNING FOUR GENERATIONS!!!) After much consideration and debate, "RWO" itself is an acronym for an ancient alien phrase loosely meaning "Army of Light." Originally, Ranma 1/2 characters were the main focus of the story, but over time it grew into what can only be described as the "ultimate crossover action fanfic." So in addition to cosplay photos and random character art, I also upload images and artwork from the "R-Legend" story in the "R-Legend" folder of my gallery. Some characters you may recognize, and others you may need to Google to learn more about.
R-LEGEND was originally an online club I started back in college. First, we were an America Online chatroom roleplay group called "RWO," then we grew to become an online club devoted to creating a massive crossover fanfiction story based on various video games, anime, cartoons, comics, sci-fi series, fantasy series, spontaneous events that took place in AOL chatrooms, and the creative ideas that my friends have pitched to me over the years. The group's name changed from "RWO" to "R-Legend" because in essence, the story is "our legend."
What is all this leading to? I'm not at liberty to go into too many details right now but stay tuned.
Things are becoming clearer over time.

Since my usual entourage was skipping Anime Expo this year, I decided to do the same and make my return to Miami Beach and Florida Supercon! First time in four years, after remodeling was finally finished on the Miami Beach Convention Center. And what a remodel it was!
