Hoping everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving! Among the things I am thankful are each and every one of you, my 7,500 watchers (and climbing!) Without you, none of this is possible. NOTES FROM NEW YORK COMIC-CON

October 10th is Naruto official "birthday," so yeah. Cosplay was required. New watchers, this is the first thing you should know about me. There's always a method to my madness.
*On the way to my hotel from the airport, the shuttle drove right through the heart of TIMES SQUARE!!! What a way to officially mark my return to New York!
*Dinner at McDonald's with
and another friend to get ready for the next day. Much hilarity ensued.
*THE UPPER FLOOR OF THE JAVITS CENTER WAS COMPLETELY REMODELED, so I had to re-learn the layout all over again.
*First photos taken this year were Street Fighter characters on Friday. Cammy, Ryu and C. Viper. NYCC seems to be prime territory for fighting game cosplayers.
*Met up with
as Gray once his Fairy Tail guild tattoo was finished for the usual rounds of GETTING PICTURES WITH EVERYONE COOL. XD Naruto and Fairy Tail cosplayers had priority of course. We were briefly joined by a Roxas too.
*Finally visited Artists Alley. The aisles were packed, like, all the time.
*Evangelion 3.33 was playing, so naturally there were EVA cosplayers roaming about. Shinji with a Mari plushie. LOL.
*Why are there so many Genderbend Schoolgirl Kaworus? No, not Rei. Kaworu. The hair is white. They're cool and all, but does that mean Shinji is suddenly the schoolyard pimp? I don't know how I feel about this.
*GIALLO GIRL!!!
AND SHE REMEMBERED ME!
*This is similar to how "R-Legend vs. Your-Opponent" got started. Passed by a group of Adventure Time cosplayers sitting on the stairs. I stare at Marshall Lee. Marshall Lee stares back.
J Ryoga: "Marshall Lee?"
Marshall Lee: "...Yeah."
J Ryoga: "...You and I are destined to do epic bat-"
Gray: *pushes J Ryoga forward* "Not now! You have a panel to get to!"
J Ryoga: "ACK! Okay, okay!"
Marshall Lee: *watches us leave* "...next time...BLADE."
DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUN!
*Our Cosplay Is Not Consent Moment Of The Con:
Taking pictures of Gray next to the big Natsu cardboard cutout at the Funimation Booth. A fangirl comes by and starts talking to him. One of her male friends suddenly shows up and says something to distract Gray. Fangirl COPS A FEEL ON GRAY'S ABS AND RUNS OFF! Gray and I were both standing there like "WTF? Did that REALLY just happen?" That HAD to be planned!
*I'd like you all to know that RYOGA and SHAMPOO got the loudest cheers from the audience when the main characters were introduced at the Ranma 1/2 panel in the afternoon. That's my pairing right there. GET USED TO IT!
*In the evening was the Evangelion 3.33 screening. There was pretty much a EVA cosplay gathering happening in the theater aisles 30 minutes before showtime. And yes, apparently Shinji is a schoolyard pimp. And Schoolgirl Kaworus are VERY territorial.
*Hahahaha! Where we sat we were surrounded by Kirito and Asuna pairs on either side!
*Uh oh, they brought out a DJ. That means something must be going wrong.
*30 minute delay and the crowd is dancing in the aisles. Amusing, but not why I'm here.
*DAT OPENING SEQUENCE IN SPACE, OH MY GOSH!
*OK, this may or may not be spoilers, but the crowd went nuts during every Shinji and Kaworu scene. Every line seemed like a sexual innuendo. EVERY. LINE. Now I know why Titan Waifu wants me to cosplay Kaworu more often.
*DAT SPACESHIP, OH MY GOSH!
*Shinji, you need your ass beat. I'm sorry, you just do. Stupidity like that needs to be punished.
*After that, it was dinner, then off to Rockafeller Plaza for the POKEMON X AND Y RELEASE PARTY as Naruto and Luffy!
*MY FIRST RIDE ON A NEW YORK SUBWAY!!! AS NARUTO NO LESS!
*Stop me if you've heard this before. A Pirate And A Ninja Walk Into A Bar And Ask "WHO'S THAT POKEMON?"
*We circled the block getting photo-ops from people in line at the Nintendo Store. And even got to check out the V. I. P. Release Party!
*And to top it all off, RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL! Good day, good day. AND THAT WAS ONLY FRIDAY!
*Saturday, Sage Mode Naruto was joined by Spider-Luffy (Spider-Man and One Piece crossover!) MY CROSSOVER COSPLAYS ARE INFLUENCING THOSE AROUND ME! EPIC WIN! XD
*People recognized me from last year. This is good.
*Legend of Zelda sand sculpture of Windfall Island was AWESOME.
*Marvel and DC gatherings were in a new location, and found them just in time!
*Attack On Titan gathering outside the Javits Center. To the surprise of no one, Sage Naruto does the Survey Corps salute.
*At LONG LAST, THE FIRST FACE-TO-FACE MEETING WITH MY EAST COAST ARCHRIVAL, DJ RANMA S! Just imagine seeing Ranma Saotome and Naruto Uzumaki having a conversation that went something like this:
Ranma: "Bring that belt to Brooklyn, cause I'm taking that World Cosplay Title from you, son!"
Naruto: "The hell you are! THE CHAMP! IS! HERE! BEST IN THE WORLD!"
Ranma: "You're in my house now! This ain't no Leaf Village!"
Naruto: "WRONG! I'm taking over now! This is NEW LEAF CITY!"
*cue the cracking up because neither can keep a straight face*
*Ran into
as well! We seem to run into each other at every con.
*Took a break at the Daisuki.net booth where
had a blast at the One Piece cosplay gathering. That's what I notice about this con. Company set up their booths with stages so cosplayers can have gatherings there instead of in the hallways. Not a bad idea.
*Met a THANOS cosplayer and I got to FISTBUMP THE INFINITY GAUNTLET! I repeat, I GOT TO FISTBUMP THE INFINITY GAUNTLET!
*Nighttime photoshoots outside the Javits Center, and we are joined by Kirito (Sword Art Online.)
*Finally ran into
*Pictures outside Madison Square Garden, plus more subway riding to check out different spots around the city, then back to Times Square to make random onlookers divide by zero. XD
*Sunday...oh my gosh. I expected it to be dead. I was DEAD WRONG. Felt more like Saturday Part 2. ALL OF THE ANIME COSPLAYERS showed up. Sage Naruto joined by Natsu instead of Gray this time.
*Found
and her group outside The Block! ALL OF THE NARUTO COSPLAYERS!
*There was one boy cosplaying Genin Naruto who was bouncing off the walls when he saw me as Sage Naruto. Ah, to be young again. XD
*Oh my gosh. Superman just called me "Naruto." SENPAI NOTICED ME!
*Lots of Attack on Titan cosplayers.
*A group shot turned into the Anime Cosplayers Gathering. Naruto, Zoro and Natsu, joined by Kirito, then Death The Kid, then Lucy Heartfilia, then a bunch of Attack on Titan cosplayers.
*LOL. Kirito first showed up to take photos.
J Ryoga: "Kirito, get in on this."
That moment right there. For that split second, Kirito's body language...the hurried excitement of joining the group shot...moments like that are a rush for me. Plus, a new anime character joining the "big kids" from the popular mainstream anime. BEHOLD THE SYMBOLISM. SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING!

There's that rush again. I love it. Never get tired of it.

Not a whole lot happening at this con, but that's OK. After all the excitement from New York a month ago, I have no problem with this. Felt more like an extended cosplay gathering set in a hotel.
A very productive Fall so far! Let's see what Winter brings!
